So I come on today in an attempt to make a post and I find my web browser doesn't respond.
It's not my web browser, I know because the 4-5 other sites I'm on (one of which is another proboards site) is fine and I also sometimes get an "unresponsive plugin" message on my browser (which is Firefox by the way).
This tells me that there's some script on this site that, intentionally or unintentionally (most likely the latter) causes my web browser to hang so long I have to close it through task manager (pressing "X" doesn't work when it hangs like that). Maybe it's an ad or something, and maybe it will go away in a day or two (if it doesn't I will be making a topic on the support forums), but I just thought I'd let you guys know in case this takes a log time to resolve and that I haven't completely disappeared.

alright, I don't think it's this webpage. I've also gotten the unresponsive script message along with the firefox hang when trying to watch youtube videos and trying to watch anime on animefushigi. Another thing that pisses me off is that the "unresponsive script" message always says that the "unresponsive script" is from ytimg.com or cloudflare.com. I have no freaking idea what these websites are, but they're really pissing me off because what I assume is their ads are making my browser not work properly.

I don't know if we're really supposed to reply to away messages but your problem made me want to reply as I have experienced it. I usually press "continue" when the unresponsive script issue happens I assume you have done this, if I press "stop script" it crashes mozilla. The other thing I do sometimes is delete the cookies for the site in question, sometimes it works. I hope I'm at least a little helpful.

if you use Firefox, try installing an addblocker addon, as for the unresponsive scripts that happens to me sometimes too, try to check your addons and make sure they are all updated. www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

I know about Adblock, I don't use it on ProBoards because using Adblock and promoting Adblock is against the ProBoards TOS.
Pressing continue doesn't seem to do anything. I just keep getting a message saying "Warning: Unresponsive Script".
At this point I think it's a comparability issue between Flash and FireFox. That said I'm not even sure about that. I've disabled all of my addons, disabled hardware acceleration, uninstalled flash, re-installed Firefox, none of which have worked. I may have to switch to a different web browser entirely, something I'm hesitant on doing cause I've been using FireFox (or Mozilla) since the first time Mac OS X came out (when on Mac OS 9 I used Netscape....... Yes I am a Mac fan, but use PC's cause most software is only available on PC).
Another thing to consider is that while my desktop has this issue, my laptop appears to be completely unaffected by it. That said, I don't think I have the latest version of flash on it. I have the same browser and the same addons on both my laptop and my desktop, I think the only difference is Flash (which is why I say it might be a compatibility issue).
Either way, I'm still trying to work around the problem. For those of you wondering how I'm making these posts, I have the ProBoards iPhone app installed and am using that to make the posts.

I was right, it was a compatability issue between flash and firefox. I installed Lunascape so I could actually have a working browser that's not Internet Explorer while I re-downloaded the installer for flash and reinstalled flash. Whatever the problem was, reinstalling flash seems to have fixed it. I'll try to get back to posting tomorrow, today I'm just happy I got my goddamn web browser working again.
